You NEED Business Cards YESTERDAY!

Business Cards

We tend to focus a lot on the online side of your career, but don’t forget you need actual business cards!  I recommend an online free card service to start with www.vistaprint.com if you are on a limited budget. They will keep their branding on the back in small font, but hey, it’s free!

I used www.zazzle.com and have designed my own card in the past. They are half size, cute, fit in my purse or in my pocket and I go NOWHERE without them.

The following is my design, but use your creativity to brand yourself.

Note:  The address below isn't valid any longer, otherwise I wouldn't post that personal info.  As far as the numbers and emails, that's considered my business contact, so I don't mind it being out there.

My recommendation if you don’t have your logo, fonts, graphic design style already figured out, there is ELEGANCE IN SIMPLICITY!  Keep it simple and to the point. Let your music and actual physical presence speak to them.

YOU WILL GET ASKED, “DO YOU HAVE A CARD?”

Please don’t be caught without them. You will miss out on opportunities and look unprofessional.

A quality business card as a musician says: “Music is my career and I treat it as such!”

Here’s what I do when I’m approached with "Do you have a card?" or "How can I find out about a show?" or "Do you have any music online?"

  1. Give them a card.
  2. Ask them for their email address or business card so you can add them to your mailing list.
  3. Go home and personally email that person. No kidding, do it. They will be amazed that you took their contact info so seriously and cared.
  4. With their permission add that email to your emailing database online.

Emails = $$$ and don’t forget this! That’s a later BLOG. Mailing lists are powerful and if used tastefully can be a direct point of contact to your fans and followers.

Our international music duo - Cliff & Susan - cards are below.  We put these out on our piano and include our Venmo, Cashapp, and Paypal info to allow for tipping this way as well.  These serve a great double purpose because it is still a valid business card we give out to promote our shows and duo.
